Your Modern Family Blog – Starting Your Own Blog

A lot of people ask this question “how do I start a YOUR MODERN family blog?” Well, the answer is quite simple. All you need to do is to make a couple of decisions. The first decision will be about what kind of content you want to have on your blog. After making that decision, then it’s a matter of getting started.

Your YOU Modern Family Blog will be centered around your life and the experiences and adventures of YOUR family. What kind of content will you write on your blog? Will it be a how-to type blog? Will it be a “diet” blog? Or, will it be something completely different?

You can decide how to create your blog based upon your personality and interests. Will it be more of a “dieting blog” with content revolving around meal plans? Or, will it be more of a lifestyle blog that talks about what it is that makes YOU happy? Will it focus around any particular hobby or pastime? Whatever your plan, it should revolve around what interests and grooms you.

Once you have chosen your lifestyle or hobby, then you need to choose a platform. There are a number of free platforms available to you, but they often don’t offer a unique angle or style that you may find important when blogging. Most free platforms will require you to become a member and pay a small one time fee in order to actually gain access to their blog pages and blogs.

If you don’t like the idea of having to pay for a platform, there are other ways to start your own blog without spending any money. You can always find someone willing to host a blog for one-time use, or you could use your own website or blog to host your content. One thing that I would suggest doing is taking the time to create a great website or blog that really speaks to the tone of YOUR family’s lifestyle.

Creating this initial platform will be the foundation of all that follows. This is the first time that your family will ever see, and you want it to turn out the best it can be. I suggest that you take a short photo tour of your new home while staying in the house for part of the day. This will help to get everyone emotionally involved with the whole process. Once this is done, I suggest that you open up the house to your family for about a week during which time everyone enjoys their new home as much as possible.
